A few weeks ago I joined friends on a tour organized by the Navy’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) office. Our destination: Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle.
The Pottery Jungle hosts one of two dragon kilns on the island and in Normal Times offers all kinds of classes and workshops. Singapore’s reopening to Normal crawls along, and the class schedule is slowly returning.
In the meantime, we wandered. While most of the furniture, decorative objects, and ceramics appeared to be mass produced in China, we also noticed a small selection of locally produced items.
I made my selection, buying a single pot for our front step.
Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle’s physical store is open everyday 9am – 5pm at 85 Lorong Tawas Singapore 639823 (No appointment required). Visit their website for the latest schedule of workshops.
