Recently Mark and I headed downtown to Citibank for yet another unsuccessful attempt at opening a local bank account. Disappointed, not exactly surprised, and hungry–we decided to sample the local offerings after leaving the bank. So we started walking and stumbled across Marina Food House, a typical spot similar to the hundreds of lunch counters that dot both residential and business districts of Singapore.
We stepped inside and found several stalls that are independently operated but complimentary: a noodle and dumplings guy, a drinks guy, a soup guy. The total bill for both of us: S$10, or around $7.50 US.
